Sekartaji Park was a Linear Public Space in the river bank of Surakarta. The level of liveable decreased if it was combined with the fist phase until the middle of construction. The local citizens were not interested to do activities in Sekartaji Park because or the condition of the park which had less maintenance. This park had linear character that potentially to increase its liveable. This research used a planning model which take a part the citizens. Virtual Reality became a planning model of Linear Public Space with responding the citizens opinions through a simulation. The repairing simulation of Linear Public Space based on Yoshinobu Ashihara, Kevin Lynch and Hamid Shirvani concept. The result of Virtual Reality simulation showed that the citizens tendency chose the repairing alternative concept by Kevin Lynch which focused on communal space. The citizens needed the activity space dominantly to do some community activity. That needs were realized in the space of group activity and the performance for community to the citizens. The poor liveable of Sekartaji Park was increased by reinforcing its linear character. The repairing activity by adding the communal space was intended to reinforce the linear character of Sekartaji Park. The Virtual Reality showed that repairing activity to the citizens, so the citizens responses could be created as a reference determination of design guideline.
